The nomination is for our work on SnapIT, which gives employees access to IT in real-time without engaging the IT service desk. As organizations grow, keeping up with the number of IT requests can prove difficult. As employees are becoming more tech savvy, they often prefer to resolve IT issues on their own, rather than wait on hold to speak with IT. With SnapIT, when an end user sees an onscreen error, s/he can take a picture of the message using a mobile phone to immediately gain access to relevant resources and advice that address the specific error, in addition to providing steps to remediate. Using sophisticated automation routines, SnapIT logs an IT ticket in the IT service management system to automatically track the issue without involving IT personnel. It turns the picture into text and automatically performs a knowledge-based search on the text, returning advice instantly, allowing the employee to quickly resolve his/her own IT problems and automatically closing the ticket.
